Mrs. Dixon’s Horn Studio Guidelines

I. Purpose of Private Lessons

Lessons with Mrs. Dixon is a means for a student to improve their musical skills by working with a professional horn player. Private lessons guide students along the path to excellence in their instrument while also teaching responsibility, goal setting and commitment to a craft. 

II. Cost per lesson

Per the Frisco ISD rate, lessons are $26 per lesson at the high school level, $25 per lesson at the middle school level. Scholarships for private lessons are available through your band booster association! Please let Mrs. Dixon know if there is a need for financial support. 

III. Payment Schedule

Payments are made on a monthly basis and are due by the first lesson of the month. Invoices for the month will be sent out one week prior. Please let Mrs. Dixon know if a different payment schedule is necessary! I am always willing to work something out. 

Payment types accepted are Venmo, Zelle, Checks (made out to Paulina Dixon), or Cash.

IV. Attendance

  1. Lessons will be held in person, on campus and will be scheduled during band period, advisory, or before/after school.
  1. Excused Student Absence: Mrs. Dixon is contacted at least 24 hours before the missed lesson – No harm, no foul. Lesson will be made up later in the week or semester. If a make up is not possible, payment for the missed lesson will be credited to the student’s account.
  1. Unexcused Student Absence: No show and no prior communication…The first unexcused absence is forgiven and Mrs. Dixon will discuss the importance of communication with the student and parents. The lesson will be rescheduled if possible. For second unexcused absence and subsequent absences, the student is charged for the lesson and will not be rescheduled or credited.
  1. If a student is tardy for a lesson, Mrs. Dixon is not obligated to extend the lesson time or make up the lost time at a later date. If Mrs. Dixon is late for a lesson, the lesson time will be extended or made up at a later date. 
  1. If Mrs. Dixon needs to cancel or reschedule a lesson, notification will be given at least 24 hours in advance and a make up lesson will be scheduled. 

Participation in Mrs. Dixon’s Horn Studio is an acknowledgment and acceptance of the guidelines.
